Committee Goals / Objectives & Members

MEMBERSHIP:

1. Offer real & tangible benefits to membership as identified by member surveys and IACC Board of Directors.
   Focus:
   1. Business Education Series:
      1. Seek out, secure presenters on relevant subjects as available, Promote & provide personal invitations to selected events
      2. Chair or Participate with a MYBERT group. Ensure the group has clearly defined, relevant, engaging subject matter for meetings.
      3. Investigate Web based learning alternatives
   2. Chamber Referral: Ensure Sponsors and continued effectiveness
   3. Hometown Service Beyond Expectations Campaign: Reactivate & ensure promoted at regular intervals. Gather info, photos & write articles for submission to media.
   4. Member to Member Discount Savings: Be advocates of, promote within membership, participate by utilizing and/ or offering a promotion.
   5. Member Survey: Formulate relevant content, analyze and utilize to set goals for committees in upcoming year.
2. Maintain current membership and build new members thru regular personal contact with current, new and prospective members, serving as mentors to and advocates for the membership.
   Focus: Maintain a minimum net annual increase in membership of 5%
   Maintain a minimum membership renewal rate of 88%
   1. Identify prospective members
   2. Monthly Assignments to make contact with current & new members
   3. Organize New Member ORIENTATION & WELCOME

Meetings are monthly and currently vary in date at Armory Community Center

MARKETING: Promote Chamber Member Businesses and Organizations by promoting Ionia as a destination.

Focus:

1. Ongoing improvements to Website
2. Evaluating and / or acting on Promotional opportunities as they are presented or discovered
3. Bi Annual coordination of Community Guide in even years and a publication to replace the map in odd years.
4. Distribution of Promotional / Marketing materials to rest areas, hotels, campgrounds and other distribution points as identified and appropriate.

Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month - 9:15am - MI One Conference Room

FINANCE: Maintain financial viability of Ionia Area Chamber of Commerce

1. Prepare Annual Operating Budget
2. Review & recommend membership investment rate changes on annual basis
3. Review and submit recommendations on financial requests.

Meets on as needed basis - reviews Monthly Finance Reports by email

IONIA EXPO: Responsible to Organize / Promote / Grow the Annual Ionia Expo, offering a discounted venue for members as well as regular rate venue for non members to highlight and promote their business or organization to the greater Ionia Area.

Meet Monthly Late Oct thru Jan with increased frequency in January/February

GOLF CLASSIC: Responsible to Organize / Promote / Grow the Annual IACC Golf Classic Event. Offering a venue for members and guests to celebrate their support of the Chamber of Commerce, Network their business/organization, and enjoy an outing that is a kick off to the summer season.

Meets Monthly Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb with increased frequency in March & April

AUTUMN CELEBRATION: Responsible to Organize / Promote / Grow the Annual Fall Celebration, connecting commerce with community.

Meets every 2 - 3 weeks late August thru September, October

ANNUAL AWARDS: Responsible to Organize / Promote / Grow the Annual Awards Celebration - Providing recognition for outstanding citizens and businesses as well as a networking event.
Focus:

1. Redevelop and redefine venue
2. Work with Chamber Members to highlight their business talents

Meets beginning in Late Nov followed by one Dec Meeting and 2 January Meetings

IM SMART - Main St Top 40 (Ionia Main Street Merchants Achieve Results Together)
Responsible to provide a communication process between Main St Area Merchants (48 Retailers & Restaurants) that assists in Promoting and Growing customers for these same businesses. Allowing Main St Area to function as a single economic unity, instead of a series of unrelated businesses. - A destination for friends and family to shop, dine and visit, feeling connected to the Hometown Atmosphere.

1. Communication
2. Accentuate the Positive
3. Build on Current Activities – Capitalize on Events
4. Advertising Power – Promoting Together
5. Main Street as a Destination
6. Cultivating and supporting new business
